Professor Li uses experimental approaches, geochemical modeling, and synchrotron X-ray techniques to study water-rock interactions in energy and environmental systems. Example topics of interest include geologic CO2 sequestration, geologic hydrogen generation and storage, dissolution and precipitation of critical minerals, and fate and transport of PFAS and nanoplastics through porous media.
